About the event
Join us and learn to crochet! Emerald & Allison want to help you crochet! Crochet can be therapeutic and has been an effective form of therapy for many veterans suffering from PTSD, depression and other similar conditions. Crochet can also be helpful in refining motor skills among many other benefits. The meditative and repetitive action of both knitting and crocheting aid to focus the mind on the activity, thereby slowing the nervous system and reducing anxiety and stress hormones (cortisol) in the body.
